DETAILS
The Database Domain has created the following privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering practices for dbdomain.com.
Our site uses forms on other pages to enable customers to send feedback, or to request subscriptions, products, and services.
We collect visitor's personal and financial information to establish subscriptions or purchase products. A customer's contact information is used to contact the customer when necessary or as requested by the customer (for example, to answer questions, due to problems with the account, or due to unusual online activity). Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services. We do not share information with any affiliates, partners, or other businesses. The Database Domain may release personal information to the proper legal authorities when required to do so by law. Users will be notified via email prior to any changes in The Database Domain's use of personally identifiable information. Users will then be given the chance to opt-out of the new use before it goes into effect.
This site contains links to other sites. The Database Domain is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.
Cookies
"Blank" cookies are set on public pages of dbdomain.com. Users see the same content regardless of whether they accept or refuse these cookies. When an online subscriber logs into courseware, the courseware menu initializes or updates a cookie to bookmark the most recent course that the subscriber used with this web browser. The cookie makes it easy for the user to pick up from where he/she left off when starting the next training session. The cookie stores information about the courseware menu tree structure only (specifically, what folders are open and closed, and what the most recently selected course was). This cookie does not store any user-related information. Each time the cookie is updated, its expiration date is set to +60 days from the current time. If the user refuses this cookie, the menu structure will not work properly, because the menu uses the cookie to keep track of which menu folders are open and closed.
Web Logs
Our Web logs are standard format. Our custom analysis program tracks most standard statistics, including: hits, bytes, visits, and page views on a daily and monthly basis, as well as origin (IP addresses/domains) of our visitors on a monthly basis. To help us track the security of access to subscriber-only content, we also track both successful and unsuccessful login attempts to secure web pages, and page views for individual "sessions" as they browse the site. Absolutely none of the information gathered by our web logs or web log analysis program is made public and is used only by our technical staff to maintain the security of our content.
Security
This site uses state-of-the-art SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect your account information from unauthorized use. We have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Our secure server protects your account information using advanced encryption and firewall technology throughout the ordering process. All user information is kept offline; no user information is available via the internet. Customer information is only accessible through authorized access to a private database. If users wish to correct/update their personal information, they must contact The Database Domain directly. Most browsers will show a lock icon in the bottom status bar on secure pages. Look for this icon on any Web page that asks you for personal account information.
